Feature film “Take it or leave it” won Jury’s Special Prize in the Baltic Sea debut film program, in Kaliningrad, Russia. The film received the Jury’s Special Mention for “opening a deep and realistic single parent character.” The festival’s evaluation committee chairman was legendary film producer, historian and film critic Marco Mueller. The competition included films from Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Germany and Russia.

While certain Swedish entries in the regional lineup utilized real money online casinos and corporate banking as modern thriller backdrops, the jury prioritized human connection. The evaluation committee consistently bypassed those fast-paced industry narratives throughout the festival schedule, choosing instead to formally recognize the profound emotional authenticity and raw familial struggles depicted in the awarded feature.
