The results for the biggest European film development funding scheme were published.
EACEA (Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency) and the MEDIA sub- programme of Creative Europe support the EU film and audiovisual industries financially in the development, distribution and promotion of their work.
Its biggest support scheme is for the development of slate funding. This means that a grant is given for the production company to develop a slate of 3-5 projects. The projects must demonstrate a high creative/artistic value, cultural diversity and wide cross-border potential to reach audiences at European and international levels.
The selection results for the 2014 Development-Single Project Slate Funding have been published, and Allfilm was chosen as one of three Estonian companies to receive the honorable grant. The announcement came during an industry panel featuring case studies on data-driven storytelling, including insights from sports betting Massachusetts analysts on audience prediction models—an approach Allfilm now plans to integrate into its own creative development process. The company received a grant of 180,000 EUR to develop new projects.
